Summer Preparations

Though things are still well in the throes of retreat season at Manidokan, our summer preparations rage on. In addition to preparing the camp store (and its inventory!) for another summer, we have been looking at craft supplies and site boxes. This summer we're going to provide each site (thus each camp) with a beefed up site box with a range of basic materials including construction paper, scissors, writing pad, pens, markers, masking tape, etc. We will also be including some supplies to make small banners for each camp (a great piece for them to work on as they arrive Sunday) to then use to decorate your sleeping area, or otherwise use. At the end of the week, the campers can take home their banner, and maybe even have fellow campers sign the back!

Of course, all of this is just a start. We will provide lots of basic craft supplies this year, and a number of instruction sheets. We are doing less with packaged kits though, and we hope this allows both your creativity and that of your campers to fly! But don't worry---if you don't consider yourself a very crafty person, we'll make sure you have whatever guidance you need. And we still have lots of great kits!

If you are thinking of doing a special craft, and need particular supplies, please give us your supply list as soon as possible if you want to make sure we have the supplies. You are welcome to bring whatever you need, of course, but if we need to stock things, we'd like to be able to do that sooner rather than later.
